‘Paid assassin’ pleads guilty to Hogmanay gangland shooting

A “paid assassin” has admitted the Hogmanay murder of a known gangland figure outside an Edinburgh pub.

Marc Webley was shot near the Anchor Inn, shortly before the bells two years ago.

His killer, Grant Hunter, had expected to be paid a “substantial sum” for carrying out the hit.

Two others have pled guilty to trying to help cover up the crime.
