Over 20,000 sewage spills reported last year in Scotland

Scottish Water say our rivers and seas are amongst the highest quality in Europe

There are calls tonight for more to be done to protect Scotland’s rivers, lochs and coastline after a worrying rise in sewage spills across the country.

The number of discharges rose by 10% last year, with critics accusing the Scottish Government of not doing enough.
