Over £1 million spent to help red squirrel conservation

There are an estimated 140,000 red squirrels across the UK but more than 2 million greys

More than a million pounds has been announced to help red squirrel conservation across Scotland.

The north east is set to benefit, with the money being used to protect the declining population from the invasive grey species.

Tayside is a priority area for conservationists who’re working to keep greys out of northern strongholds.
