Women born in the 1950s affected by the changes in the state pension age should be given an immediate apology and compensation, according to a long awaited report.
The Ombudsman has urged the UK Government to “do the right thing” and is suggesting pay-outs of between £1,000 and £3,000 for those whose retirements were thrown into chaos.
Campaigners believe that figure should be closer to £10,000 but fear they’ll never see a penny of compensation.
