Number of people using foodbanks in Scotland reaches record high

One charity said an 'alarming' number of families with children now rely on them to survive

The number of people using foodbanks in Scotland has reached a record high in the past six months.

Between April and September more than 120,000 emergency food parcels were delivered by the Trussell Trust.

As the busier winter period approaches, the number of people accessing their services is expected to rise again.
