North east beaches recognised by environmental charity

However local campaigners say more needs done to protect local beaches.

Ten beaches in the north east have been recognised by an environmental charity for cleanliness and being visitor friendly.

The Keep Scotland Beautiful awards are given to areas meeting different criteria including safety and accessibility.
