A legal bid to have the long-delayed extradition hearing of a man suspected of rape in the United States thrown out of court has failed.
Nicholas Rossi, who allegedly faked his own death to avoid prosecution, has continued to deny his identity on the first day of proceedings in Edinburgh.
The 35 year old’s lawyer attempted to have the hearing scrapped due a request from English police to interview him about an alleged rape in the UK.
This move was turned down by the sheriff.
