The health board says it'll need to find another £40m worth of savings - on top of the more than £60m it's made this year.
NHS Grampian has been struggling to balance the books for some time – and the financial challenges look set to continue.
This year it faced an overspend of £68m.
But now it has been revealed the health board is projecting a deficit of more than £70m next year.
