The Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh has launched an intensive training course to equip surgeons with the skills to assist in disaster zones.
Hostile Environment Surgical Training brings together UK-based surgeons and those from war-torn regions to teach them how to operate in catastrophic situations abroad.
