New television advert to break down stigma around HIV

Research by funded by the Scottish Government found many held negative views about HIV

If you’ve been watching STV this week you may have spotted a new advert about being diagnosed with HIV.

It is the first major TV advert on HIV to air on Scottish television since the tombstone ‘Don’t Die of Ignorance’ campaign in the 1980s.

It aims to break down lingering stigma and inform people that today, HIV is not a death sentence.
