New subsea cable factory to be built with Japanese investment

It promises to create jobs and reduce carbon emissions

Scotland’s renewables industry has reached another milestone with construction under way on a new subsea cable factory in the Highlands.

It was toasted not with whisky but with a tot of the Japanese drink sake.

The project is being funded by Japan’s electricity giant Sumitomo.
