New strategy to tackle post-Brexit food and drink sector issues

The First Minister says he's committed to supporting food, drink and rural businesses

Seven years ago today, the UK voted to leave the EU. Many in the Scottish food and drink sector say the repercussions of Brexit are still being felt – causing uncertainty about overseas trade, and making it more difficult to recruit seasonal workers.

Today a new strategy was launched to tackle those challenges.

It’s been developed by people working in the industry, with £5 million of Scottish Government funding for the first year.
