New report reveals half of junior doctors want to leave NHS

Trainee medics say they feel undervalued, demoralised and exhausted - and they are leaving the health service in droves

Is our NHS in crisis? Health boards up and down the country are asking people not to come to A&E unless it’s an absolute emergency.

Staff are threatening to strike, and in the last hour the health secretary announced a £600 million pound plan to get hospitals through the winter.

It comes as half of Scotland’s junior doctors are considering leaving the NHS. The British Medical Association has echoed these concerns, and is urging the Scottish Government to act now before the doctor drain gets worse.
