New legislation comes into force banning parking on pavements

So far, Edinburgh City Council is the only area that's committed to enforcing the law

Parking on the pavement is now illegal in Scotland — and from today, drivers could be fined up to £100 by their local authority if they are caught doing it.

The rules also ban parking at dropped kerbs and double parking in a bid to make pavements a safer place to walk — and for those who have children in prams, as well as wheelchair users.
