STV News understands new guidelines around the use of smartphones in Scotland’s schools could be announced in the coming weeks – but it’s likely to stop short of pupils being asked to hand them in every morning.
The UK government has already urged headteachers in England to move towards a ban on mobiles amid concerns over safety and disruption to lessons.
