Capercaillies are on the verge of extinction in the UK for a second time, but a new feeding technique could throw them a lifeline.
There are only around 500 wild capercaillies left in the country – almost all in the Cairngorms – as predators feed on their eggs and chicks.
But thanks to a new project from academics and conservationists, they could have a bright future.
