Disproportionate and unnecessary… Those representing Scotland’s rural landowners say a new Bill to protect birds of prey and moorlands has gone too far.
The Wildlife Management and Muirburn Bill passed at Holyrood yesterday, which means grouse moors must now be licensed and snares banned.
But the regulations have been hailed as a gamechanger by environmental groups, who’ve been campaigning for decades for tougher controls.
