The cold weather led to delays and cancellations on Scotland’s rail network today too, trains at Haymarket came to a halt due to icicles on overhead lines.
But Scotland’s railways are set for even more disruption this week as thousands of members of the RMT Union will walk following a long running dispute over pay with Network Rail.
Network Rail have rejected the latest pay offer, and from tomorrow, only a dozen routes will be running across Fife, the central belt and the borders, with services ending at 6.30pm.
