Network Rail pleads guilty after fatal train crash

The crash in 2020 followed heavy rainfall and landslides on the track near Stonehaven

The company responsible for railway safety has pled guilty to criminal charges after the deaths of 3 people when the Glasgow Aberdeen trail derailed.

At the High Court in Aberdeen today, Network Rail admitted to a catalogue of failings, including not warning the driver the track was unsafe, failures in the maintenance and inspection of drainage in the area, and in their extreme weather planning.
