National Treatment Centres introduced to tackle NHS backlog

John Swinney said Scotland increasingly has the resources, facilities and staff needed to 'transform clinical care'.

After years on NHS waiting lists, patients from all over Scotland are being referred to National Treatment Centres, which are attempting to address large backlogs for treatment.

On a visit to the new site at the Golden Jubilee Hospital in Clydebank, John Swinney said Scotland increasingly has the resources, facilities and staff needed to “transform clinical care”.
