Murder rates in Scotland lowest since records began

Much of it is being put down to taking a different approach to dealing with violence

Scotland was once called the most violent country in the developed world – but now the homicide rate has fallen to the lowest level since modern records began almost fifty years ago.

It’s a remarkable turnaround since the early 2000s when the number of killings peaked.
