Much-loved STV children’s entertainer Glen Michael dies aged 99

Cartoon Cavalcade, which was first broadcast in 1966, made Michael a household name with Scottish audiences.

Glen Michael, one of STV’s most-loved entertainers, has died.

His family confirmed the 99-year-old passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening at his home in South Ayrshire, following a short illness.

He will be best remembered for his record-breaking run on Cartoon Cavalcade which he wrote and presented on STV for 26 years.
