MSPs say Fornethy survivors should be awarded compensation

The Scottish Government has previously said the survivors do not meet the criteria for the Redress scheme.

Survivors of abuse at the Fornethy House residential school in Angus say they finally feel listened to after a committee of MSPs agreed they should be able to access a compensation scheme.

The Public Petitions Committee has written to the deputy first minister, asking ministers to act immediately to ensure those affected are eligible.
