The author of a major review of gender identity services for young people has told a Holyrood committee more research is needed before puberty-blocking drugs can be prescribed to under-eighteens.
The use of the treatment is currently suspended in Scotland after the report by Doctor Hilary Cass into the system in England found the current evidence on medical interventions is “remarkably weak”.
