Middle East conflict pushes oil above $100

Fears rising energy bills and inflation as prices surge

There’s a warning that the conflict in the Middle East will likely see household bills here rise, as oil passed the $100 a barrel mark for the first time in four years.

The wholesale price of oil sharply increased by more than 10% today.

There are fears that energy bills and wider inflation will go up as the price of both oil and gas continues to react to the conflict.
