He was one of the best known names in Scottish rugby and raised millions of pounds for research into Motor Neurone Disease – and today the life of Doddie Weir was celebrated at a memorial service in the Borders.
The event in Melrose heard that finding a cure for the condition that killed him last month, aged just 52, would be a fitting legacy for him.
