Medics at Paisley’s Royal Alexandra hospital have described the expansion of robotic assisted surgery as a gamechanger, after establishing the first permanent robotic service at the site.
Robotic assisted surgery allows for more precision and less invasive procedures, leading to a quicker recovery and shorter hospital stays for patients.
In the last five years, more than 10,000 procedures have been carried out using surgical robots across a range of specialities. NHS Forth Valley has also approved plans to introduce the technology.
