Finlay MacDonald has been sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of murdering his brother-in-law and attempting to murder his wife and two others.
MacDonald stabbed his wife at least nine times on Skye in 2022 before going on a shooting spree that would see him murder John MacKinnon and attempt to murder an osteopath and his wife.
At the High Court in Edinburgh today, Lady Drummond said relatives of Mr MacKinnon felt they’d lost the life and soul of their family.
