Man sentenced to 23 years for murder of veteran Ean Coutts

Ean Couts was missing for a year before remains were discovered at a disused Glenrothes industrial unit

Murdered for money. Former army veteran Ean Coutts was bundled into a wheelie bin and dumped in a Fife industrial unit, where he lay undiscovered for a year.

His remains were so badly decomposed, police had to use facial reconstruction to identify him.

A jury at the High Court in Glasgow found David Barnes guilty of his murder. Today, he was sentenced to 23 years for the callous killing.
