A man who tried to kill his estranged wife after subjecting her to years of domestic abuse has been jailed for more than seven years and four months.
William Budge drove a car straight at Sandra in Edinburgh’s Muirhouse Parkway before doing a U-turn and driving over her again.
Today, a judge told the 62-year-old, who admitted attempted murder, that the “callousness and cruelty” of his actions are astonishing.
