It was put up for auction for £500 and bought by eagle-eyed collector Dr William.

A lost painted portrait of Robert Burns by renowned artist Henry Raeburn has been found during a house clear-out in Surrey after more than two hundred years.

It was put up for auction for £500 and bought by eagle-eyed collector Dr William.

He has now brought it back home to Scotland, where the public can view it for free at the National Galleries of Scotland, just in time for Burns Night.
