Scotland’s top law officer has criticised the police investigation into a surgeon thought to have harmed more than 200 patients.
Sam Eljamel was head of neurosurgery at NHS Tayside until he was suspended in 2013.
Lord Advocate Dorothy Bain says the six-year inquiry by Police Scotland “has simply not progressed as it should have”.
