Locals protest over plans for 29-hectare battery storage site

Ministers say the controversial site is a key component in achieving the renewable energy of the future.

Residents say they’ve been ignored after plans for a 29-hectare battery storage site near Clydebank was granted approval by the Scottish Government.

Ministers say the controversial site, on Cochno Road beside Whitehill Farm, is a key component in achieving the renewable energy of the future.

It lies on the boundary between East and West Dunbartonshire and is now one of hundreds either approved or in operation across the country.

But residents say they are worried about their safety and the impact on the local landscape, including historical sites.
