Liz Truss is resigning as Prime Minister– she’ll be gone in a week. After a chaotic 44 days in office, she’ll go down in history as the shortest-serving PM ever.
She’ll remain at Number Ten while the Conservatives choose her replacement, announced next Friday.
It follows the resignation of the home secretary yesterday and chaotic scenes in the Commons last night when it was alleged Tory MPs were bullied into supporting the government in a vote.
