After weeks of campaigning, the waiting is over.
Liz Truss has beaten the former Chancellor Rishi Sunak in the race to become the next Prime Minister.
Picking up around 57% of the votes, she pledged that she ‘would deliver’.
The Foreign Secretary will now travel to Scotland, where she’ll meet the Queen and be asked to form a government and become Prime Minister.
She’ll take over officially tomorrow, and with the cost of living crisis on everyone’s mind, her pledge will be put to the test immediately.
