Levenmouth rail line officially reopens to passengers

ScotRail services will begin operating on the new railway this Sunday.

For locals in Fife who have been campaigning for decades, Wednesday was a significant milestone, with the official reopening of the Levenmouth rail line.

Passenger services on the line ended back in 1969, but now it’s full steam ahead, with a direct train to and from Edinburgh every hour.

The project also includes two brand new accessible stations and 19 kilometres of track, connecting Leven to Thornton Junction on the East Coast Mainline.
