Lecturer’s plea to bring critically ill father to Scotland from Gaza for treatment

Mohammed has set up a petition to try to get his father to Scotland for treatment.

Mohammed Alshurafa has set up a petition to ask the Home Office to allow his critically ill father to come to Scotland for surgery, after suffering a heart attack in Gaza.

The St Andrews University lecturer wants a temporary visa granted, which will allow his father to come to Scotland to receive the medical treatment he needs.

His father became ill after his health declined following violence in Gaza, in which many of his family members were killed.

The hospital told his father they had done all they could, but he still requires major surgery, Mohammad believes if he brings his father to Scotland he could get the help he needs.
