The Scottish Government’s tax and spending plans are almost certain to pass through Holyrood, after Labour announced it will abstain on the Budget vote.
The party’s leader Anas Sarwar says he would back the proposals if the end to the two-child benefit cap is brought forward to this year.
The SNP needs the support of at least one other party when MSPs have their say on the budget next month.
