King in Edinburgh ahead of receiving Honours of Scotland

Scots from all walks of life will be taking part in a People's Procession tomorrow as part of the ceremony

The King and Queen have been touring Edinburgh Royal Infirmary to celebrate 75 years of the NHS.

On a second day of engagements in Scotland, they unveiled a plaque at Holyrood Palace, marking the Jubilee Gates installed last year as a gift to the late Queen Elizabeth.

And they are currently hosting the annual garden party at Holyrood Palace.

Meanwhile, a Scottish Government minister who snubbed an invite to tomorrow’s events has described the monarchy as an “out of date and undemocratic institution”.

Patrick Harvie, the co-leader of the Scottish Greens, will be speaking at an anti-monarchy rally instead.
