King Charles presented with the Honours of Scotland

The ceremony featured a mix of royal tradition and music written for the occasion

King Charles and Queen Camilla have been presented with the Scottish crown jewels.

The event is intended to be a moment for Scots to mark the Coronation which took place in London in May.

A so-called “People’s Procession” made its way down the royal mile – from Edinburgh Castle to St Giles’ Cathedral– for the church service, a red arrows flypast– and a 21 gun salute.

Some have questioned why all this is even taking place in a cost of living crisis– most of the money is coming from the Scottish Government.
