Karen Gillan leads New York's annual Tartan Day Parade

The parade is a celebration of Scottish heritage and culture.

If you were in New York this weekend – you’d have been forgiven if you thought you were back home. The roar of pipes and drums and a sea of saltires took over the Big Apple as thousands gathered for the annual Tartan Day Parade.

It’s a celebration of Scottish heritage and culture and was led by Inverness actor Karen Gillan.
