A scheme to resolve court cases early and reduce the number of witnesses needed to attend is to be rolled out across Scotland.
The summary case management pilot was launched in Dundee, Hamilton and Paisley sheriff courts before being expanded to Glasgow and Perth.
A report found it has helped reduce case backlogs through earlier engagement between the prosecution and defense.
