A Scottish High Court judge has been appointed to lead the inquiry into the police handling of Emma Caldwell’s murder, more than a year after it was announced.
The 27-year-old was killed in 2005 by Iain Packer, who was convicted in February last year.
At the time, the Scottish Government agreed to an independent, judge-led inquiry but her family wanted it to be headed by a judge with no connection to the Crown Office.
The Scottish High Court judge Lord Scott has been appointed to lead the inquiry.
