Boris Johnson claims any suggestion of mass rule breaking within Downing Street during the Covid lockdown is a million miles from the truth.

The former Prime Minister was pressed on party-gate during a second day giving evidence to the UK inquiry into the handling of the pandemic.

Mr Johnson insists at no point did he support the idea of letting the virus rip through the population.
