Boris Johnson was “clearly bamboozled” by Covid scientific advice and was a “weak and indecisive Prime Minister”.
That’s what the UK Covid Inquiry heard today after diary extracts from the former Chief Scientific Advisor were published.
Sir Patrick Vallance also told the inquiry certain politicians, like former health secretary Matt Hancock, pressured them to change scientific advice, with Rishi Sunak suggesting it was about “handling the scientists” rather than handling the virus.
