Jobs to be saved after firm takes over Harland and Wolff

The Belfast-based shipbuilder went into administration in September.

Hundreds of Scottish jobs have been saved after a multi-million-pound rescue deal was struck by a Spanish firm to take over troubled shipbuilder Harland and Wolff.

The firm went into administration in September, leaving workers at its plants in Fife and on the Isle of Lewis facing an uncertain future.

Today, it was confirmed that the yards have been bought, securing all jobs.
