IVF treatment on the rise while sperm donations falling

Doctors say the pandemic has reduced availability and are calling on men to consider donating

The number of single women undergoing IVF in Scotland has risen by 20% in the last two years, but the number of sperm donors in the county is falling.

So much so, the NHS is now importing donations from abroad to meet the rising demand.

This is leading to many women choosing to go abroad for treatment, where sperm donation is big business.
