Irn Bru carnival returns to Glasgow for its 104th year

This is just day one - thousands are expected over the coming three weeks

It’s the annual event which been a staple for Glaswegians and beyond for over a hundred years.

Originally opened to boost morale following World War One, the Irn Bru carnival has become one of the biggest indoor events of its kind in Europe.

Residents from local care homes were amongst the first visitors to set foot inside this year’s Carnival, which opened to the public today and runs until mid-January.
