Inverness Prison criticised for failure to tackle overcrowding

A replacement jail is being built, but isn't scheduled to open for another two years

Inverness Prison’s historic problem of overcrowding is under the spotlight again.

Inspectors criticised the Scottish Prison Service for failing to tackle a problem which has meant inmates sharing cramped cells at the Porterfield jail.
