Scotland's chief prison inspector, says it's an urgent issue, that must be addressed

Scotland’s oldest prison, is failing to meet European human rights standards – an inspection has ruled, the size of dozens of double cells, are “unacceptable.”

Prisoners in parts of HMP Perth, are sharing rooms, with less than 7 square metres of space.

But with the prison population rising across the country, there’s no quick fix.
